Lieutenant Catrin Munro is an Earthling at an undetermined point in time in the future. She had been captured by, but escaped from, another race of beings that wanted to “test” her special gift. This “gift” leads her to a bar on a moon and to a stranger whom she knows will help her.

Captain Niko Arrian, who was also drawn to that bar on the same moon through his Earthling mother’s “gifts”, is a proud and a fierce warrior from a planet that grows its men extra strong and resilient to harm - they are also quite merciless in battle.

When Captain Arrian rescues Catrin from certain capture at the bar on the moon, he claimed her as his slave. He soon found out that this slave was not submissive at all and that having a good fight was always on her agenda. Just as Niko came to realize how much he cared about Catrin, and she about him, the race that captured her in the first place decided they wanted her back. The two of them realized they were fighting not only for their lives but their love as well, as they didn’t want to lose that slaves way out.

I love paranormal; I think it’s a field that needs a lot more exploration in all genres so that intrigued this reader from the start. The futuristic aspect was a bit underplayed which was okay - too many details can kill as easily as too little and Ms. Salo gave just enough that you knew it sure as heck wasn’t now. I found it an enjoyable read – very light and quick. It did have a few grammar and spelling mistakes but not too many. Not sure how they got to know each other very well with all that sex going on, but at least they had something to start with – passion – and that is as much fun to read about as it is to live.
