Amelia is urgently searching for her journal. Gossip is appearing in the newspapers. She is desperate to stem the tide of the rumors and protect her family’s reputation, especially the marriage prospects of her niece, Charlotte. She also has to contend with her desire for Grayson.
Grayson is still trying to find the man who stole Amelia's journal. He also has a newfound desire for Amelia, which she definitely reciprocates. They, however, cannot act on their desires because he is her dead husband’s cousin, also because her reputation has already been tarnished by her stolen journal. In order for her niece to marry a man of consequence, her family has to have a good reputation, and a public affair between Amelia and Grayson would damage her chances.
I really loved the second book. It was a great mixture of scandal, romantic tension, and sexual interludes. I loved the tension between Amelia and Grayson. I kept hoping for them to finally forget their obligations and reservations and just go for it. It was unresolved sexual tension to the tenth degree. My favorite part of Book 2 is Amelia’s encounter Lachlan McGregor, the stable keeper who Amelia had a fling with when she was younger and rekindles her flame when she becomes a widow. I loved his initial rejection of Amelia and the almost power struggle between them because it reminds me of the tension that exists in novels like Wuthering Heights where there is a huge class difference between the lovers. I became really curious about him. He was that rough and abrasive character that I love. He kind of reminded me a bit of Heathcliff from Wuthering Heights because he was poor and down on his luck. I hope he returns to the story somehow. I almost like him better than Grayson because he has so much depth to him. I also like it much more when my heroes in novels are rougher around the edges. I can’t wait to see what happens in Book 3.
Ms. Michaels grew up in an Indiana farm town. This small town is where her love of reading and writing took hold. She recently moved to Nashville with her husband and four small children. She misses the quiet of the country but is currently acclimating to the hustle and bustle of city life. Please go to eRedSage.com to find more books.

When Edmond Dantes finally escapes the prison walls which encased him for years, he returns home in disguise, on a path of revenge, as the wealthy Count of Monte Cristo. Nobody is quite sure where the Count is from, but one woman sees through the facade, as she gazes into the eyes of the man she once loved.

When the man Mercedes Herrera Mondego she loved vanished without a trace, she was sure her life was at an end. Married to a man she despises, she has never found a glimmer of the happiness she once cherished. Now her beloved has returned, though only she seems to realize it. But instead of a joyful reunion she discovers he is out for vengeance, and not just against the men who betrayed him, but also against her.

Will Edmond be content with the destruction of the lives of those who ruined him? Will he be the master to Mercedes, as he enslaves her in his passionate pursuit and retaliation efforts?

Honestly my biggest problem with this book was I was expecting a romance, but what I got out of it was an erotic novel, the romance just didn't work for me. The Count of Monte Cristo has always been one of my favorite books and movie adaptations, so I was eager to see how Ms. Gale wove one of my favorite classics into an erotic romance. Maybe my expectations were too high. While there was an unmistakable chemistry between Edmond and Mercedes, I just felt he was to cruel in his revenge to be a romance hero, okay that probably sounds silly especially with all the “revenge” themed romances out there, some of which I really like, but what I mean is that I never really felt him warm up to her, he always held himself aloof. I felt bad for Mercedes as she tried to regain her lost love, but never seemed to quite succeed. As erotica this was a fair read, but still not something that I was enthralled with. The story was peppered with many scorching hot and sometimes rather kinky sex scenes, but just great sex scenes doesn't make a good book for me, I need more plot that I can get into.

Colette Gale is the nom de guerre of a popular historical author. You can learn more about her and her books on her website: www.colettegale.com.

One day a year. For the last 20 years, Rory’s and Dorian’s ghosts can only be together only one day a year.

Rory and Dorian lost their lives, tragically, on the eve of their wedding. They are now trapped in a world between the living and dead. Except on Halloween, the anniversary of their death, when it is the one day of the year that they may be seen by not only each other, but also a living person.

They are unable to go into the light until they are seen, together. Fearing they will never be able to spend eternity together, Rory and Dorian wander through public venues, hoping to attract the attention of anyone who may see them. Unfortunately, the only people who may see them must be in love.

This year is different. Dorian has been seen, but sadly, no one can see Rory. They struggle to find out what has changed. Why can’t anyone see Rory? They fear they may be separated for eternity.

During this search Rory and Dorian discover they were not wed before their demise. This is what has caused them not being able to go into the light, their unfinished business.

Now they must find someone who can see Rory. They must get married, therefore completing all business and allowing them to cross over.

When I really like a book, the words for a review just flow out. Sadly, this was not such a book. It wasn’t a bad story. I just felt that Ms. St. Croix rushed through the writing. I could not believe in the characters and was not drawn into their story. There was not enough depth for me.

I would have found it much more interesting if Rory and Dorian’s unfinished business had been to expose their murderer or even to stop the building of a mall where their house once stood. Not having crossed over because they did not complete their marriage ceremony, saddened rather than intrigued me. She did bring Philip to admit his love to Valerie, but I could not appreciate their storyline. I also felt bad for Ms. Delores, Rory’s best friend in life, because Rory never seemed to acknowledged her in the story, while Ms. Delores has tried for two decades to see them.

It seemed that Ms. St. Croix spent a lot of time creating detailed sex scenes, but the same amount of time was not devoted to the plot, which I thought was thin.

African-American twins Pearl and Opal Jefferson live a blissful life along with their best friend, and Latina chick, Debra Flores. They have a beautiful house, a car, a successful business, pretty faces and nice bodies. Theirs is a ‘simple’ life, rhythmed by parties, outings, and no-strings-attached sex.

Until the day Jake steps into their life. He falls for Pearl, which would be great, but he is Caucasian. Another white guy, Doug, has the hots for Opal, while African-American Rakim falls hard for Debra. There is also Jake’s racist brother, Frank, to contend with in this explosive multi-racial mix.

The girls are not really enthusiastic about the guys. Or so it seems. But things are not as they seem. Pearl crosses the line they had set – it’s no longer just for sex. She is in love with Jake, and wants more. A full relationship, in fact.

Will she be able to stand up for their relationship? Both her sister and Jake’s brother are against their association. And Pearl opens a whole can of worms with her decision – can interracial relationships really work, even in today’s times?

The book starts with a good premise. However, I have to say the main issue got lost somewhere along the way. Too much happening, too many episodes of day-to-day life, too many details - which in the end, prevented the author from really getting into her characters’ heads. The implications the premise raises are lost and barely touched upon. In a way, the story almost reads like chick-lit, but unfortunately, the reader is not drawn enough into the minds of the characters. In many places, the dialogue was also hard to follow, since the author places three or more female characters in a scene and refers to most of them as ‘she’. The identification of the speaker is lost, rendering a chaotic dynamic to the mix.

It still remains a book of acceptable standard, especially if one is looking for a light and time-passing read.

Fallon is a teleport half-demon and partner to Feyd Nightly, another half-demon. They are a pair of mischievous devil-may-care jack-of-all trade thugs for hire. A bit on the oversexed side, they seemed to score and be ready to score at the drop of a swizzle stick.Astrid is one hot sexy rich witch who has a penchant for saving her friend Ashlyn Co’shott from hairy situations she seems to be always getting herself into.

Astrid and Ashlyn themselves have quite the passion for fine things and encounters that leaves them breathless and wet.

Fallon and Feyd find themselves hired to a supposedly easy snatch, recover the magic and eliminate job. The job becomes complicated when they find out the person to be snatched is Ashlyn who is under the protection of the witch Astrid, the one true love of Fallon. Too add to the complexity Feyd fall for Ashlyn and both girls are key to parts of the master plan of Cassiel, an exiled demon prince, to dethrone the current Demon Lord and become master of all demons.

To stay alive and enjoy their new found love in the forms of Astrid and Ashlyn, Fallon and Feyd must jump in with both feet into the murky and dangerous game of demon power politics and take out their boss Fallwell and his crew and chase down some magic that is supposed to halt death to keep from being smoked themselves, along with keeping two healthy women with very large sexual appetites satisfied.

The plot, though interesting, could play out better in the book. Too much emphasis is placed on trying to throw in every known sexual fantasy rather than the underlying struggles of all key characters. The underlying themes are rich for more exposure and would allow the reader a better and more fulfilling look at the craft and imagination these two writers have to share.

The Price sisters show that they have a good understanding of the elements of an interesting story, however they are rather stingy in sharing their great potential by replaying limited themes again and again. I believe they have the potential to develop not just semi-stimulating (erotic) content but also content that has substance and I am looking forward to reading their future work.

Raine, on the run, never thought to find love again. It figures that she would begin to believe in happiness when her life has to change yet again.

Surge, destined to rule as the son of Riptide and the grandson of Poseidon, has felt a call from the one place no mermaids are allowed to go - the surface. Yeah, you heard me - Surge is a mermaid, or merman, as the males prefer to be called. His innocence of the surface world is charming and though he is willing to risk everything to make Raine his mate, will it be enough?

Slow start, in the beginning, but the pace rapidly picked up. Raine and Surge's tale is a soft-spoken one, no pun intended, of love and destiny. Ms. Littlejohn has a true talent for telling a passionate story that is sensuous and loving.

Meet Shay Coles, a saucy and curvy size 24 woman. She runs a successful flower and art shop, has lots of diverse friends and loyal customers, as well as a huge, overwhelming family, and is just a little bit repressed concerning her sex life. Mainly because of a lack of one; and a tender heart caused by a cheating ex-boyfriend in the past. She compensates for this lack by having a wonderful fantasy life. She can’t stop the vivid erotic dreams she has been having about a sexy customer, Mikhail A’do Nis. She savors these nightly dreams because the reality is she would never say anything about her attraction to him and go looking for rejection.

A Zerican Sentinal from another realm, Mikhail A’do Nis is searching for an important plant, the Immortal Blossom, that is missing from his world, the Karvic Kingdom. He is drawn to Shay and can’t prevent himself from stopping in her flower shop, Exotic, even though the Immortal Blossom is not there; nor can he stop the Maerd Noisi dream visions they are sharing together. He wants to make the dreams a reality, but first he must complete his mission - and Shay Coles is a distraction he doesn’t need.

There are many interesting things happening in this book. For me, it also raised a bunch of questions. What makes the Immortal Blossom so important to the Selva sector of the Karvic Kingdom? What does it do? What is Shay’s connection to the Immortal Bloom? What is the significance of having a Noisiv Tseuq vision as Mikhail does? Who is Ms. Cramigla and what has she Shay chosen for? What are the rules and stages of the Luos Etam mating ritual? Are we going to see more of the numerous siblings and friends introduced in this story in the up-coming books? Is Mia the person she seems to be or something more? What part does Alenkic, King of the Renmus sector, play in the disappearance of the Immortal Blossom? After reading this story, only some of these questions are answered while many more are raised.

I have to say, what a unique start to a series. CARNAL AWAKENING sure awakened my curiosity about this new world and what is yet to come. This book has so much potential, but several ingredients were missing for me to rank this higher than 3 Enchantments. The first being - answers! Although I like a little mystery, I want to know the ‘why’s’ of everything by the end of the book; too many things were left unexplained. I am hoping that the next two books will be more of a completed story within a story. Some of the plot ‘turns’ seem unnecessary to this particular story (the 3 page explanation of the ex-boyfriend‘s cheating, Mia‘s interaction with Ms. Cramigla, Mikhail purchasing several of Shays favorite art pieces for no reason); they came from nowhere and didn’t really add much to the setting. The plot felt slightly choppy and unedited, and would have been better suited to a longer length. I think my main problem was the inadequate world building and prep work behind the book; at least it doesn't come through to the reader.

But on the plus side, the passion between Shay and Mikhail was heavy and intense. Especially the scene with the enchanted window - it will leave readers breathing hard. All of the characters (whether primary or secondary) are complex, colorful and vibrant. There are several secondary characters in this book that I can’t wait to read about in the upcoming stories. I will be waiting on pins and needles for the next installment - if only to find out the answers to all of my questions. If I have roused your curiosity at all about this novella, you will want to pick up CARNAL AWAKENING and read it today.

Ronni and Cathy have a standing date - to meet every so often in a café and tell each other what has happened recently in their lives. This time when they meet, Cathy has a very sensual and pleasure-soaked interlude to relate to her friend. It involves her boyfriend, Derrick.

Cathy has a thing for Zorro. She can watch all his movies all night long. This makes Derrick very jealous, since he’s not on the number one spot in her fantasies. Derrick decides to remedy to this tiny detail on a night when Cathy planned a Zorro-movie marathon.

This story is a short story by author Ms. Littlejohn. She goes for short format after writing a few full-length romance novels.

I liked the girly-talk set-up of the story. The friendship between both women is captured in a light, breezy way. Ms. Littlejohn also writes a very steamy, sexy, and sensual encounter between Cathy and Derrick. My only peeve (if you can call it that) is that the story reads so smoothly and well that it was over before I knew it.

Maja Van der Beek is more commonly known under the code name of Aequana. In her early twenties, she lives a sheltered life and is allowed to indulge herself. However, the one thing Aequana does not have is freedom. She is a mermaid. More specifically – a ‘malformation’ which occurred while she was still in the womb has left her with gills and not-fully-formed toes. Consequently, Aequana can live as easily underwater as on land. There’s a catch though – she ‘belongs’ to the US military. Born and raised in their world, she has never known what real life is about.

John Eagletalon, commonly known under his code name of Talon, is a trained soldier from an elite detachment of the Army. A past military intervention has allowed him to be medically discharged from duty. However, Talon still owes Uncle Sam fourteen months of service.

Aequana works for the Army. When her partner falls sick and cannot continue by her side, the Army decides she needs a new partner. Talon is called in, among others. But Aequana chooses him. He will finish his remaining service time by her side. They are sent on a mission, and both learn more about the other. The spark of passion that flared ever since their first meeting ignites, until both cannot deny their love for one another.

But the army is the nagging detail in this equation. Aequana will never be allowed out of their control. When Talon learns of the atrocities and scientific experiments Army doctors conduct on Aequana, all hell breaks loose. He will save her, come hell or high water. Aequana wants only one thing – a normal life with Talon. Will love be strong enough in the face of all the obstacles in their path?

I wasn’t prepared for the depth of the intrigue and the plot when I started reading this book. A brief glance at the blurb had hinted at the plot, but I must admit going through the story one page at a time was a voyage of discovery.

Ms. Mooney writes with a strong, clear voice. She knows how to pace tension, suspense, and action. Her mastery is also evident in how she builds up the love between this unlikely pair. Aequana is a profoundly human character. Despite all her sass, she is a little girl at heart. Ms. Mooney conveys this really well. But at times, the heroine is a bit too silly to really exist. True, she is sheltered, but a military op like Aequana is expected to be a bit less mushy.

Also, the one thing that jarred me out of the narrative was the hero. Talon is a smart guy, ex-military, take-charge personality. He will fight for the woman he loves. However, Talon often falls in melodrama, which appears inconsistent with the man he is supposed to be. A hero can be tender and love sincerely, but Talon was a bit too feminine at times, which takes away from him. There were also some scenes in this light which were a tad too sentimental and syrupy.

Overall, it is a good read. There is the right balance of elements. Romance is there, action has you hanging at the edge of your seat, and the suspense is carried through to the very end.

Lady Isabel is married to an older, very uncaring, devious and abusive Baron. Her widowed mother had bartered Isabel off to the Baron as a way to provide for her other children.

Sir Daniel is the Baron’s nephew and so far his only heir.

When the Baron marries Lady Isabel - he finds he is unable to produce an heir on his own and decides to bring in help. Sir Daniel is invited to his Uncle’s estate to unwittingly play the surrogate. Lady Isabel is ordered by her husband to pretend to be a dream to a drugged Daniel and to seduce him in his sleep over a period of 2 weeks. However, the Baron’s plans go horribly, yet wonderfully, awry.

I found Ms. Winn’s writing to be very intriguing. The characters were easy to understand and it was uncomplicated to get a good feel for their individual situations and predicaments. I really got a good laugh out of some of the scenes and was quite touched by others. This was a very easy light read that I found quite enjoyable.

Author Ms. Winn was born in Kansas, has lived in both Hawaii and California, but happily considers North Carolina her home state. She won the Eppie for the best electronically published historical romance in 2003 and was a finalist in this contest in 2007 for the best erotic historical romance.

In the beginning, our young heroine, Sarah, escapes the vicious Ven'eelg - a creature with the upper body of a human, and the tail of a serpent - by flying, something she never knew she could do. In her attempt to distance herself from the Ven'eelg, Sarah encounters dragons, Spidr’ ac - the spider version of a centaur, Bate'evon - vampires with bat form, and finally, Jake.

Jake is an elite warrior, one of the legendary flying men who fight evil beings like the Ven’eelg and the dragons. Due to circumstances, Jake has an excess of power, which he shares with those strong enough to become warriors. Jake informs Sarah that he’d been watching her and shared some of his power with her to help her get away.

Jake and Sarah come to an agreement, whereby he teaches her how to become a stealth warrior. A problem arises when Sarah’s appearance as a warrior sends Jake running to his co-chief, Torin, asking him to find someone else to train Sarah because he’s too attracted to her.

Torin performs a mind probe on Sarah and discovers that she should be trained as an elite warrior, not stealth. He informs Jake that he is to speed up Sarah’s training. While the energy crackles and fizzles between Jake and Sarah, they manage to continue her training, and even go out on assignment to enemy territory. Very soon they find out that a she-serpent named Ley’dya is on Jake’s trail and after the excess of power he holds.

Before long, a host of dragons, Ven’eelg, Spidr’ac, and Bate’evon are gathered to make war on the Warriors and those they protect.

To save those he loves, Jake lets his power consume him as he unleashes it to destroy the enemy. To save the man she loves, Sarah absorbs as much of that power as she can through a very tender, steamy, setting-fire-to-equipment kiss that can only leave us mere mortals jealous and in awe.

I have to give Ms. Yong props here. Her story is very creative. I truly cannot think of one single book I have ever read that has included anything even remotely close to the Spidr’ac in WARRIOR GIRL.

I’m also very much in like with her comparisons, which added a level of humor to this fantastic story. In my humble opinion, Ms. Yong has a ton of potential that she has tapped into here, and with a little more experience, could be on the level with David Farland (Wizard Born). This is worth the read, especially when you see what the imagination can create!

Jake and Sarah are back! Sort of. Sarah’s been snatched away to another realm by a Bara’ad, a creature resembling black jelly, whose tentacle-touch can paralyze. Jake hears her telepathic cry for help and follows her in. Only then does he realize that their powers are gone.

Jake sees the Bara’ad making off with his lady love and chases after them. When Jake attacks, he casts around for a weapon and spies an unexpected one! A fruit known as a fire melon. When a rock covered in the juice of the fire melon hits the creature, it fades away, leaving Sarah behind in one piece.

As Jake and Sarah help themselves to the warm fruit to keep up their strength and repelthe Bara’ad, Jake tells Sarah he’s been to this realm before but retained his powers. Something new has taken them away.

After a run-in with a sea-serpent, the couple takes shelter in a nearby cave for the night. The next morning, after feasting on roasted fowl and fashioning themselves some arrows, the couple is attacked by Spidr’ac. To get away, Jake lassoes a flying horse, and lifts himself and Sarah out of the clutches of the horrible beasts. The horse wings the couple out over a mountain range dividing the real in two. On the other side of the range, Dark Beasts are working hard and preparing for battle. Jake figures that the Dark Beasts arethere to test the very device that is suppressing the Warriors powers.

This very suppression device is taken to the realm where the Warriors reside, and battle rages through out the world. People are infected and become Dark Creatures. Warriors fall prey to tricks and cruelty and die. One of the Warriors has been swayed, through his greed and jealousy, to turn on his comrades and plant the power-suppression device under their very noses!

In this sequel to WARRIOR GIRL, Ms. Yong brings us a world even more exciting than the last. The fire melons – both a weapon and a food – sound positively yummy. And Jake and Sarah seem even more in love than before, if that’s possible!

Again, I have to give Ms. Yong a hand. Her imagination is truly astounding. Each new world is more fantastic and mind boggling than the next.

Nathan had admired the beauty from the stage and now temptation was right in front of him. When he looks at her, all the other women in the crowd fade in a haze. One night is worth the risk. Though he has the rock star reputation, he’s willing to do anything he can to convince Star that he would do anything for her love.

There were a couple of inconsistencies that kept this from a higher rating. The very beginning started with her in a black dress then ended up in a red dress. There were some spelling errors. I wanted more about each character. I like when there is some form of conflict in the story, but they didn’t have to truly overcome any problems and they didn’t have time to grow to find out about each other. Of course, in a fantasy, everything does go the way one plans and this was a short read. But I did enjoy the descriptions and style of writing. Overall, not a bad read. I’d pick up something from this author up again.

Lieutenant Catrin Munro is an Earthling at an undetermined point in time in the future. She had been captured by, but escaped from, another race of beings that wanted to “test” her special gift. This “gift” leads her to a bar on a moon and to a stranger whom she knows will help her.

Captain Niko Arrian, who was also drawn to that bar on the same moon through his Earthling mother’s “gifts”, is a proud and a fierce warrior from a planet that grows its men extra strong and resilient to harm - they are also quite merciless in battle.

When Captain Arrian rescues Catrin from certain capture at the bar on the moon, he claimed her as his slave. He soon found out that this slave was not submissive at all and that having a good fight was always on her agenda. Just as Niko came to realize how much he cared about Catrin, and she about him, the race that captured her in the first place decided they wanted her back. The two of them realized they were fighting not only for their lives but their love as well, as they didn’t want to lose that slaves way out.

I love paranormal; I think it’s a field that needs a lot more exploration in all genres so that intrigued this reader from the start. The futuristic aspect was a bit underplayed which was okay - too many details can kill as easily as too little and Ms. Salo gave just enough that you knew it sure as heck wasn’t now. I found it an enjoyable read – very light and quick. It did have a few grammar and spelling mistakes but not too many. Not sure how they got to know each other very well with all that sex going on, but at least they had something to start with – passion – and that is as much fun to read about as it is to live.
