Lady Isabel is married to an older, very uncaring, devious and abusive Baron. Her widowed mother had bartered Isabel off to the Baron as a way to provide for her other children.

Sir Daniel is the Baron’s nephew and so far his only heir.

When the Baron marries Lady Isabel - he finds he is unable to produce an heir on his own and decides to bring in help. Sir Daniel is invited to his Uncle’s estate to unwittingly play the surrogate. Lady Isabel is ordered by her husband to pretend to be a dream to a drugged Daniel and to seduce him in his sleep over a period of 2 weeks. However, the Baron’s plans go horribly, yet wonderfully, awry.

I found Ms. Winn’s writing to be very intriguing. The characters were easy to understand and it was uncomplicated to get a good feel for their individual situations and predicaments. I really got a good laugh out of some of the scenes and was quite touched by others. This was a very easy light read that I found quite enjoyable.

Author Ms. Winn was born in Kansas, has lived in both Hawaii and California, but happily considers North Carolina her home state. She won the Eppie for the best electronically published historical romance in 2003 and was a finalist in this contest in 2007 for the best erotic historical romance.
