This book starts with Liberty, Cupcake and Dragana trapped on Antioch Station waiting for Liberty's wealthy family to smuggle in a replacement eyesight chip for Liberty. They try to keep a low profile as they are fugitives from Earth, as well as Cupcake having a sordid past on Antioch. But luck is not on their side. When an old colleague spots Cupcake, things get bad in a hurry. Cupcake knows his time is running out, and Liberty wants at least one night to cherish and show him how she feels about him; she sees this as the perfect opportunity. Can she convince him to love her or will their enemies get to them before he succumbs? I don't want to spoil too many of the plots twists and turns, so I won't reveal anymore.

What a captivating series! I have not read the first book, FERAL (which did not detract from my enjoyment of this book at all), but after reading this, I plan to. And I can't wait for the next installment either - hurry, Ms. Gray, you've got me hooked! The two main characters are both hard, but vulnerable to each other. Cupcake's gentle side and romantic actions towards Liberty makes me melt. I wouldn't mind having a protector like him. The sex is infrequent, but what is incorporated is steamy and raw, definitely deserving of its E-rotic rating. The secondary characters add a lot of humor and depth to the storyline, making me anxious to read more. Pick this up and read it today. You won't be sorry.
