Ellen MacArthur and Duncan Armstrong are two very headstrong but caring people. Ellen though is forced to take refuge in King Stewart’s protection and faces the loss of not only her home, but also her only kin and the man she was to marry. Now Ellen must make her life somewhere else and become a woman of her own. Duncan has repeatedly saved her and now that she is his in name and maybe, just maybe, by heart...

Duncan is an honorable man to both the crown of Scotland and to his people as well. Duncan has looked long and hard for a woman he can love, but so far none have gotten his attention as the young Ellen has. Now Ellen is being offered to him by the King and Duncan has decided that respect and friendship are just as important, or is he only fooling himself and he cares more than he is willing to admit, for now?

BORDERLORD'S BRIDE is a good story, but it seems slow in places and something is missing, which is a shame since I usually enjoy Ms. Small's work immensely.

Ms. Small is a national best-selling author with many titles under her belt.
