THE MERRY WIDOW is one very merry romp. The heat sizzles and burns off almost every page. Be prepared to need lots of cooling aid when reading this one! However, despite the almost non-ending sexual prowess related in the story, the author does manage to convey a physical and human dimension to the characters. The romance between Merry and Jim is nothing short of sweet, well, okay, if you overlook the sultry blaze that lights up at every encounter.
Definitely a good read, but one that will leave the reader hot, hot, hot!

Yet, Mandy has discovered the fascination which boys present to adolescent girls. There is the older, stovepipe-wearing, slicked back hair and dressed-in-black guy she meets while on vacation, who gives her her first real kiss. Then back home, there is sweet and handsome Gary, who wants her as his steady girlfriend. Then there is Roger, the bad boy spelling trouble.
There is the journey of discovery, complete with the lure of adventure and the thrilling temptation of seduction... It is also a time of love, sweet kisses, and betrayal.
While I will admit that at the start of the book I wasn’t too keen on this story, I cannot recall where Mandy Rossiter pulled me into her world and made me want to stay there. Ms. Otto writes in a poignant way which makes the reader feel Mandy as if she was there and the reader was her best friend. The reader is taken along this journey, and sometimes is terribly frustrated to be only a silent observer, wanting at times to laugh with Mandy, bash her on the head when she is about to do something stupid, and cry with her when her life goes hay wire.
Mandy’s story is one any woman can relate to, because we’ve all been there at one point, be it in different eras or decades. At heart, Mandy is the girl in us.
Thanks Ms. Otto for having caught this elusive essence of growing up in this book.

They eventually fall in love. Yet, the enigmatic John carries and hides a secret so terrible it would tear the very heart he now cherishes - Jessica’s. Should he reveal his secret, there will be no future for them. And a future with Jessica is precisely what he now yearns for.
Both Jessica and John are very lovable characters. They have both been depicted with flair and humanness. The story reserves some very powerful twists and turns, some of which the reader will not see coming. The eventful dimension of the story however does tend to lag and drag in some instances, and in some places, the recovery is rather lacking. However, all this might be overlooked in the light of Ms. Springer’s particular brand of realistic and very detail-oriented descriptions of historical life.

Joanne is hurt and feels betrayed. She withdraws from the relationship. But Ritchie is not ready to let her go, at least not without putting up a fight. He will expose the lies keeping them apart, come hell or high water.
Here is one story with an apparently simple plot. Simple? Not so much. While I will admit the plot is rather uncomplicated, there is a big surprise awaiting all the readers, and this is the author’s delightful writing voice. Mr. Cooke’s mastery of relationships and the characters he creates in Love in the Afternoon is simply to be applauded. Rarely have I read of a hero more worthy of being termed a hero – Ritchie, despite being in the afternoon of life, is a man any woman would find hard not to fall for. The interaction of the characters in this set-up is simply marvelous, especially where Ritchie and his daughter Sally are concerned. I had one laugh after another with these two.
This is one story to curl up with and read in one single go. It will fill you with a soft warm glow, and you will fall in love along the way.

The twists and turns in this one sure make it a page-turner.

Faith will find out the truth about whether her husband is truly dead or if it all is just a lie. Can we trust our heart to tell the truth? Can we trust in faith and God?
I really liked this story. I have not read a romance in a while that had people in it who had faith in God. It was very refreshing to see stories about people who still have faith in God and let Him direct their lives, and are not ashamed to admit it.
Thumbs way up for this author. I hope to see more books like this from her.

But it was a little different because the hero was a man of the cloth who was the one falling in love and the knight was the bad guy. The hero was very mysterious and kept you guessing. I was really able to get behind the heroine and root for her. All in all, a very intriguing story that I think the reader will enjoy.

I liked the fact that the characters never let go of their resolve no matter the cost. They followed through with what they set out to do. I liked the way the story just flowed along. The characters were a joy to read about. You want the story to keep going and continue on.
This author has a flair for the paranormal that I hope never ends. I will be looking up other books this author has written.

A story of a hate that must be stopped or the vampire and human friendships that are barely holding on will be shattered because vampire consorts are being killed and someone wants the vampires to take the blame.
I liked this story even though it is not a romance, at least not to me, and I don’t think the author wanted it to be thought as one. This story has quite a few main characters in it and they all had their own story to be told and I am sure we will find out more about them in the future. I had a talk with this author after reading a few excerpts of one of her books and I told her she had a story telling ability to rival that of Stephen King. After finishing the book, I still believe that.

I really liked this book. It took awhile to get used to the first person point of view with Eve and third person with Kim and Natasha but after a few chapters, it seemed natural and really fit the story. Loved the slight paranormal bent, though it could have been used a little more throughout the book.
All in all, WEDNESDAY NIGHT WITCHES is a great entertaining read by Ms. Nichols.

Conflict abounds when Claire can't be sure of the motive behind Seneca's interest in her L.A. boyfriend and Drew can't stand what she sees as Seneca's superficial ways. As the summer wears on, each girl is forced to deal with their own growing problems until one night forces the three to bond together and their friendship is finally cemented.
I really enjoyed this book, as the reader gets to see other sides to the girls that the characters don’t know about till later in the book. Each girl has their own point of view and it’s interesting to see what is actually going on with them and their misconstrued views of each other. I especially enjoyed watching Seneca fall for a guy who is so not her typical type.

If you want to know who has made the impossible possible, well, ...you will have to read the book.
There is a real bittersweetness to the story as well, though Taranis might be on his way out, though Merry got the father - or was it fathers - we all wanted, though it seems she has won the race, love comes with pain and a deep searing pain is what happens when the one you love the most is suddenly gone. But, is all hope lost? Is the one that Merry held dear to her heart gone?
Only time and reading A LICK OF FROST will answer any and all of these questions, and leave you with even more. I felt honored, and still do, to have been given the chance to read it before publication. I cannot wait to see what the final copy will look like, and hope to get the pleasure of reading more of the ‘Merry Gentry’ Series in the future.

This is a group of stories that portray the strong independent woman beautifully. BREATHLESS by Ms. Carrington was one of the best paranormals that I have read in a long time and I sincerely hope that there are more from her to find. I have enjoyed several of Ms. Fox’s stories and MIDNIGHT RENDEZVOUS was no exception. But BIRTHDAY WISH by Ms. Adams was by far the best story in the anthology for me. The sexual chemistry between characters was erotic and captivating. The lust pulled you in, but it was the development of deeper emotions that kept you there, eagerly turning the pages to see what was next. Red Sage Publishing definitely has a winner with the SECRETS anthologies. Each new volume offers something for everyone and this reader is rarely disappointed. So believe me when I say that you can’t fail with any of these exciting volumes!

Thantos desires to give Ari her self-confidence back. He plans to wine, dine and charm her. Thantos has a secret - he is the Greek God of Healing that visited Ari in her dreams when she fell asleep in his temple. So making her feel beautiful should be simple for him, right?
I had high expectations after reading the book blurb. Unfortunately, they were not met; I even re-read the story a few weeks later to see if it was my mood, but still had the same lack-luster reaction. While this book has moments of wonderful prose and tender scenes between the two characters, I felt that the story would have benefited more if Thantos had been just a 'mere' mortal, instead of a God. That part of the story fell flat for me. The premise of the plot had lots of potential, but in the end, the delivery ended up as just average. It was not bad, but nothing stood out as exceptional or 'got under my skin'.
The characters themselves are the saving grace in this story, having been fleshed out very well with a nice balance of harmony and challenges. I am giving this story 4 Enchantments because it was well-written, original, and the characters had nice depth. UNDER HER SKIN is a comfortable, sweet read, although the f-word is used frequently (in the context of the sex scenes).

In the first book of this series, we met Lothar and hated him, now we simply love him. Way to go, Ms. Gray, on bringing the ultimate hero out of the ultimate bad boy. Very, very rewarding read.

I enjoyed reading FULL CIRCLE by Ms. Cupnjava. She keeps her plot and sub-plots flowing in a real time and space. Ms. Cupnjava's characters are wonderful. They deal with real emotions and feelings and heartaches that any real relationship would go though. I would enjoy reading more from her.

In the beginning of story we meet Maxie, an insecure teenager, who was forgotten on the ski slopes during an avalanche evacuation. Swept away in the avalanche, she was fortunate enough to end up near a cabin. When she awoke she had no memory of who she was.
Philippe, a med student, found Maxie outside his Grandpapa’s cabin that he was sharing with his girlfriend, Renee. They cared for Maxie, until she got her memory back, only a few days later.
But in those few days, Maxie had developed a fascination with Philippe. She dreamed of his hands sensually running over her body, warming her. When Maxie’s aunt came to get her, she was sad to leave Philippe, though she was relieved to discover that her family did not mean to abandon her and really did love and care for her.
As Maxie grew up, she continued to fantasize about Philippe and dreamed of him frequently. They kept in contact via e-mail and eventually met up again.
The story was very difficult for me to read. I just could not connect with the characters. From the beginning, the author seemed to get her facts mixed-up. First Maxie’s mother was getting a divorce while she was in Montreal, but when Maxie’s memory returns, she is on her honeymoon in Hawaii. Huh? Renee was supposed to be French, but she had a German accent. That was very confusing for me to read.
I really wished that the author had sped through the juvenile stage of the character and developed an adult relationship between Maxie and Philippe. There was just something about the way Maxie’s fantasizes were written that was unappealing and quite repulsive - I think it was because of maturity level in which it was written. It also, as a reader, really ticked me off that Philippe went running to Maxie only after Renee had left him. Not very flattering.
Overall, I’m sad to say it is not a book I would recommend.

They are unable to go into the light until they are seen, together. Fearing they will never be able to spend eternity together, Rory and Dorian wander through public venues, hoping to attract the attention of anyone who may see them. Unfortunately, the only people who may see them must be in love.
This year is different. Dorian has been seen, but sadly, no one can see Rory. They struggle to find out what has changed. Why can’t anyone see Rory? They fear they may be separated for eternity.
During this search Rory and Dorian discover they were not wed before their demise. This is what has caused them not being able to go into the light, their unfinished business.
Now they must find someone who can see Rory. They must get married, therefore completing all business and allowing them to cross over.
When I really like a book, the words for a review just flow out. Sadly, this was not such a book. It wasn’t a bad story. I just felt that Ms. St. Croix rushed through the writing. I could not believe in the characters and was not drawn into their story. There was not enough depth for me.
I would have found it much more interesting if Rory and Dorian’s unfinished business had been to expose their murderer or even to stop the building of a mall where their house once stood. Not having crossed over because they did not complete their marriage ceremony, saddened rather than intrigued me. She did bring Philip to admit his love to Valerie, but I could not appreciate their storyline. I also felt bad for Ms. Delores, Rory’s best friend in life, because Rory never seemed to acknowledged her in the story, while Ms. Delores has tried for two decades to see them.
It seemed that Ms. St. Croix spent a lot of time creating detailed sex scenes, but the same amount of time was not devoted to the plot, which I thought was thin.

two year anniversay
Enchanting Reviews is turning 2 in July! How exciting! Sorry there haven't been any new reviews posted to the blog since October 2008 - things have been crazy. Hopefully, you have still been reading our reviews over on the website.
