Let’s meet our hero Dimitri Alexios. He has become a recluse in his later years though others would not see him as old. You see he is Vampire though not of his choosing. He has learned not to kill. Even if Gabriella, the woman who turned him, always wants those she turned to be hers and hers alone. Then one night he meets a beautiful young woman named Cassie and both their lives are changed forever.

Now our heroine Cassie Stephens, A young woman raised in a small town from the Midwest. She sees her chance at a change in her life and continues to do the work she loves, being an archeologist. She has felt out of touch since she has come here but she will do what ever it takes to adjust. It seems as if her chance for change has come in the form of Dimitri Alexios.

This is a story of two people just wanting to find a place to belong. A man Dimitri Alexios who is not quite what he seems and a young woman Cassie Stephens trying to adjust to the big city. Then Cassie’s boss sends her to Dimitri’s home to look over his Ancient Greece collection and from the moment they meet their lives are changed forever for they have found each other at last but first they must fend off his creator the evil Gabriella. And she will use everything and anyone in her power to end their love.

I really loved this story. Once you started it you could not put it down. This story just pulled you in with it and you felt you were one of the characters. You cried when they did and were happy when they were. Ms Lory has a way with the written word that makes you unable to pull yourself away. Ms Lory’s stories have a magical quality about them and I only hope she continues writing for many years to come.
