Callidora Demour has never fit in, even in the Watcher Society of Seralin. The Seralin know that vampires do exist and now she has decided to take her fate into her own hands. Seeking out the Vampire Marcus, a Kindred, Calli finds not only the only man to consume her body and heart but the real truth behind who she is.

Marcus, though a vampire, knows no real rest or peace. When the inquisitive Calli continually follows him, Marcus finds what he has been searching for - Love.

Will the love these two share be enough to not only defeat the Seralin and the Kindred or will they go down in blood and pain?

A gripping new twist on a very old story, thoroughly bringing the past and present together beautifully. Way to go, Ms. Devon, and I cannot wait to meet your characters and hopefully vampires again.

Adianna, Princess of Anista, is told that she must marry a Prince of Easton, much to her dismay and the discontent of her sister. Adianna doesn’t want to be a bride for trade, but duty is duty and it must be done.

When the Easton-bound ship she is sailing on is taken by pirates, Adianna is knocked out in her fight to defend the few people on the ship. She awakens to find herself tied to a bed, with the pirate captain Rydon observing her closely.

Despite her demands that he let her go, Rydon cannot, but finds himself drawn to her. She intoxicates him, and makes it hard for him to concentrate on anything but her.

Finally, they both give in to their need. Adianna awakens the next morning to find herself alone, and still prevented from leaving her cabin. In her anger, she requests to be treated as a prisoner, and plans her escape. After two nights on the sea, she finds land and more than a peck of trouble when a local thief lord takes her as his own.

Rydon comes to the rescue, but will Adianna take him back, or will she fulfill her duty and marry the prince she was sworn to?

Ms. Devon paints a vivid background of the high seas, pirates and true love. I loved, loved, loved the characters and settings! I do wish there had been more backstory to Adianna and Rydon; I would have enjoyed knowing them better! My only fault with this book is that some of the language doesn’t seem to fit. Otherwise, it’s an amazing story that should be read on a rainy day with a favorite blanket and hot beverage!

Ms. Devon, I wish you the best of luck with your writing, and I look forward to seeing more of your work!
